Kite Surfing Competition Regulations

All Tricks Sessions
Introduction

This document outlines the regulations for the Kite Surfing Competition designed specifically for twin tip competitors: All Tricks Count Sessions. The regulations ensure a fair and enjoyable competition for all participants.

1. Event Overview

  • Event Name: Kite Battle Vietnam
  • Date: 30 to 31 December 2024
  • Location: Vietnam Surf Camp, My Hoa, Phan Rang
  • Participants: Competitors using twin tip boards.


2. Event Format: All Tricks Count Sessions

  • Objective:
    To evaluate the overall trick repertoire of competitors, where every trick attempted counts towards their final score.

  • Judging Criteria:
    Variety of tricks (number of different tricks attempted) Technical execution of each trick Style and creativity Number of successful landings Competitors will have a set time (e.g., 10 minutes) to perform as many tricks as possible, with all tricks counting towards their score.


3. Equipment Regulations

    All kites must meet current safety standards as defined by the organizing body.
    Competitors are responsible for ensuring their equipment is in safe working condition.


4. Competition Rules

  • Heat Structure:
    Competitors will be divided into heats based on skill levels or random selection, ensuring fairness.
    A heat will last for 10 minutes (3 minutes before the start of the heat & 7 minutes competition time)

  • Right of Way:
    The rider with the kite above has the right of way. Riders must respect this rule to ensure safety. Competitors should display good sportsmanship, with attention to fellow competitors’ safety during their performances.


5. Safety Regulations

  • All competitors must wear appropriate safety gear, including a helmet and impact vest.

  • Life jackets are highly recommended but not mandatory.

  • Each kite must be equipped with a functioning safety release system.

  • A designated safety team will monitor the conditions and be on standby for emergencies.


6. Disqualification and Appeals

  • Unsporting behavior, unsafe practices, or violation of competition rules may result in disqualification.

  • Competitors wishing to appeal a judge’s decision must submit a written appeal to the competition committee within 30 minutes of scores being posted.


7. Weather Conditions

  • The competition will be conducted under safe weather conditions. If conditions deteriorate (high winds, heavy rain, etc.), the event may be postponed or canceled based on the judges' and organizers' discretion.


8. Scoring System:

  • Each jump will be scored based on height, hang time, and landing. Judges will assign a score from 0 to 10 for each jump, with the total score being the sum of the best two jumps. All Tricks Count Sessions:

  • Judges will score each unique trick attempted based on difficulty and execution. Successful tricks will receive a score of 0 to 10, and the overall score will be the total of all successful attempts.


9. Conclusion

  • These regulations are established to promote a competitive yet enjoyable environment for all twin tip kite surfers. By participating in the event, competitors agree to adhere to these rules.
